The new Themed Kit of Colors for the little ones will help you introduce your kids to the four primary colors – blue, red, yellow and green. Many tasks and games are included to consolidate knowledge about the basic colors. All the tasks and games have already been tested by me in individual and group classes with children from 1 year to 4 years.
By the age of 4, a child should be able to name and distinguish 4 colors: red, yellow, blue and green. Best of all, of course, children remember colors in everyday life. To do this, try to always pay the child’s attention to colors – for a walk and at home while dressing, playing, reading. And these materials will perfectly help you consolidate this knowledge and it is simply interesting to spend time with the child.
It is best to start introducing kids to flowers with one color – first with red, then with yellow, then blue and green. After getting acquainted with the first two colors – red and yellow, to consolidate it is necessary to teach children how to classify and sort objects into groups according to these colors. Then you can begin to get acquainted with the third color, and then green.
It is very interesting to spend colorful days with children. For example, if the day is red, then you can only paint with red paint, put on a red T-shirt or dress, play with a red ball, make a touch box of rice painted in red paint and look for ladybugs in it.
Examples of tasks from the kit:
Combine objects with paint of the same color. There are 2 tasks on each sheet, so the sheets must be cut in half.
There are 2 tasks on each sheet. 1 – paint objects with different colors, for example, a ball – yellow, and an umbrella – red. 2 – cut a strip of fish and geometric shapes. It is necessary to hide the fish from the cat under geometric figures of the same color.
Tasks for the development of speech “What color is the ball? Machine? Dress?” – this task will help the child learn to coordinate the ending of the adjective with the gender of the noun. The task “What is superfluous?” – it is very important in this task that the child not only finds an extra item, but also can explain why it is extra.
Hide mice from an owl or cat. The child must hide the mice under the covers of the same color (instead of covers, round doors can be cut out of colored paper). In the black and white version, you can completely paint over the MOUSES HOUSE so that the mouse is not visible in a certain color.
Articulatory gymnastics – we form the correct speech breathing – we learn to blow. A butterfly made of colored paper is attached to a flower on a thread using tape. The butterfly is placed in the edge of the leaf opposite to the flower. The leaf is held horizontally, with a butterfly near the child’s mouth, so that it is convenient for him to blow. A child blows on a butterfly trying to make it sit on a flower.
Caterpillars – For this quest, cut circles of 4 colors. The child needs to arrange the tracks of the same color as the caterpillars. Kids can be given not 4 caterpillars at once, but only 1 or 2. The second task is to find two objects of the same color and circle them.
Find and circle in two options for younger and older children. Please circle the child with objects of the color that we want to fix, for example, blue.
Find a pair by color. Pick up the wheels of the cars by color. Wheels can be buttons, multi-colored pebbles or molded from salt dough.
Lay it out as well. We cut the sheets into 6 cards each. The child is given a black and white square and 4 squares of the desired color. Then a color card is offered so that the child arranges the squares on his leaflet as well as on the colored one. To complicate the task, you can use cubes instead of squares, because they are three-dimensional, for many children it is difficult. You can also offer not 4 cubes, but more or a cube of inappropriate color. In this case, the adult needs to try so that the child himself understands that the cubes are left out or that the cube is not suitable in color. This complication breaks the pattern in the child and makes him think.
Sorting game “Paint Cans”. Jars and objects are cut out. The child is invited to put objects in cans of the same color.
Game sheets with Dyenesh Blocks, Nikitin cubes and Kuynser sticks.
Coloring Games “Shades.”
The game “Beetles in Flowers” for the development of color perception. You can also see how to play through the link.
Template for games with clothespins. For this game you need clothespins in 4 colors. We cut out the circle and glue it on cardboard. We suggest that the child attach clothespins to part of a circle of the same color.
Mats for laying out with plasticine, pebbles and other materials.
Lotto “Colors”. If you print in duplicate, you can play memorials – find a couple.
Different color memorials.
Lacing “Tree” – for the game you will need 3 laces – red, yellow, green. Each worm must get to the apple of its color. Experiment sheet – to teach your child the ability to mix color paints. Paints can be mixed both on a separate leaflet, and then bring the results here, and directly on this.
